Norm from British Columbia in Canada has restored and sold quite a few bikes in recent years, to buyers all over the world.

When he thought this beautifully restored 1973 Norton Commando 750 might find a buyer in Australia, he turned to The Bike Shed Times.

It was a good decision.

“The Norton has sold (in less than 48 hours) for full price to an enthusiast in Scarborough, Western Australia,” Norm wrote to us by email.

“Thank you so much for your support with this sale — it was a pleasure dealing with you.

“I am just finishing up a 1966 Ducati 350 Sebring and a 1966 Aermacch1 250 Ala D’Ora, both very rare bikes.

“I only plan to keep one, but don’t know which one yet. The other I will list with you when it’s completed. Cheers!”

The Bike Shed Times Editor Peter Terlick said the sale of Norm’s Commando was evidence of an increasing willingness by Australian collectors and enthusiasts to buy from overseas.

“It’s becoming harder to find some old classics here in Australia, and the importing process is actually quite straightforward.”
